CB1000 Sustainable development and project management

20 ECTS Biotechnology 20 ECTS Chemistry and 20 ECTS Mathematics.
The course provides knowledge about the role of biotechnology in the development of a sustainable society and touches on concepts within sustainable development, laws and regulations. The students work in project form to analyze the impact of biotechnology products or services on man, the environment and society.
After completion of the course the student shall have
Knowledge and understanding to:
- Describe and explain key concepts in sustainable development
- Explain and account for different perspectives within sustainable development
- Demonstrate basic project management skills and work in project form.
Skills and abilities to:
- Compare and evaluate existing products / technologies from a sustainability point of view in terms of resource availability and impact on people, the environment and society.
Values and approaches to:
- Describe and discuss how sustainable development can be affected globally, nationally and locally.
