All courses that are required for issuing the Degree of Bachelor should be fully completed with a pass mark. At least 60 credits of courses for second-cycle studies should be fully completed with a pass mark. These 60 credits should include all courses in the programme relevant to the degree project and a course in theory of science and research methodology.
The examiner is responsible to evaluate special admission requirements
The degree project should constitute a specialisation within the major the Built Environment for second-cycle studies. The course is designed as a delimited project within community planning.
After completed degree project, the student should be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the scientific foundation and best practice of the chosen subject. Demonstrate advanced understanding in current research and development of the chosen subject and also advanced knowledge on method.
- demonstrate the ability for holistic, critical and systematic work, including how to search, collect and integrate knowledge and identify the needs of additional knowledge
- demonstrate the ability to identify, analyse, assess and handle complex phenomena, issues and situations also with limited information
- demonstrate the ability to plan and with adequate methods carry out qualified assignments within given time frames and to evaluate this work
- demonstrate the ability to develop and evaluate products, processes, systems, methods or technical solutions considering the preconditions and need of people and the aims of the society for economic, social and ecological sustainable development
- Demonstrate ability to clearly present and discuss conclusions and the underlying arguments with other groups both orally and in writing.
- demonstrate the ability to make assessments considering relevant scientific, social and ethical aspects
- show such skills that is required to participate in research and development or to work independently in other qualified activities
